Weatherstone and Northshore Town Center : Unique Concepts in West Knoxville Living
By Mitch Moore
Occupying 57 acres on Pipkin Lane, West Knoxville 's new Weatherstone subdivision will be a neighborhood with Old World flair, says listing agent Marquita Stevens of Coldwell Banker Wallace & Wallace, REALTORS®, Bearden office. “Weatherstone will convey Old World charm by using stone, shake, wrought iron and carriage doors in the construction,” she adds. “There will be streetlight-lined boulevards and a beautiful, dramatic entrance to the community.”
Phase-one is now available in the development, which will ultimately accommodate 57 single-family homes and 74 luxury villas. According to Stevens, home-site choices – many of which are larger than a half acre – include wooded lots, basement lots and tracts with great mountain views.
The development, which features a community pool, is zoned for A.L. Lotts Elementary, West Valley Middle and Farragut High.
Weatherstone's homes and villas are being constructed exclusively by Mike Stevens Homes Inc. With 30 years of experience in the custom-home market, Stevens is offering the single-family homebuyers multiple plan options with such features as brick, stone and Hardi-plank construction, master bedrooms on the main level, 9-foot ceilings, solid-surface countertops and side-entry garages.
“Buyers can also bring in their own plans, or we can sit down and help them design a home to suit their needs,” says Stevens.
The two-story villas can be built either on a slab foundation or with any of four different basement options: unfinished, mother-in-law suite, two-bedroom/family room/bathroom package or a media room/bedroom/bathroom package. The villas start at $229,900
With Mike Stevens Homes Inc. handling the construction and Marquita overseeing the interior decoration and design elements, the Stevenses are presenting the Weatherstone development with a team approach.
“Our niche in the market is that we consistently try to stay a step above what everyone else in our price range is doing,” says Marquita. “The features that other builders consider upgrades are standard in our homes.” She adds that although Mike Stevens Homes Inc. is currently involved in building new residential developments, they intends to continue focusing on the custom-home market.
Weatherstone is marketed exclusively by the Stevens, along with agents Karyn Altshuler, Jinger Kelson and Missy Johnson of Coldwell Banker Wallace & Wallace, REALTORS®.
They are also the exclusive marketing team for Northshore Town Center , which is in the initial phases of development. Bringing residential living together with an upscale retail environment, Northshore Town Center is introducing the concept of “New Urbanism” to the Knoxville market.
Located on 141 acres near the intersection of Northshore Drive and Pellissippi Parkway , the residential portion of the community will feature 120 single-family homes and 150 town homes as well as upscale lofts. “There will also be a gated enclave in the back with 30 lots for higher-end homes,” Marquita explains.
Northshore Town Center is being developed by the James Doran Company of Charleston , S.C. , which chose Mike Stevens Homes Inc. to be the exclusive homebuilder. Stevens is negotiating with the architectural firm of Looney, Ricks & Kiss to design the neighborhood's homes.
Although construction isn't scheduled to begin until next spring, refundable $1,000 deposits are now being accepted for construction commitments.
