Northshore Town Center, owned and developed by Charleston, S.C.-based James Doran Company, is a 155-acre, mixed-use community under development in the heart of one of the fastest-growing and most affluent areas in Knoxville, Tenn. Combining retail, office, residential and leisure uses into a charming downtown-like community, Northshore Town Center brings life together. Intentionally designed to encourage interaction and promote quality of life, Northshore Town Center features pedestrian-friendly, tree-lined streets; numerous parks and plazas; a five-acre natural lake with fountains and a boardwalk; a jogging/nature trail and an outdoor public amphitheater for concerts, live theater, markets and festivals.
Tenants at Northshore Town Center will include a variety of local and national upscale restaurants, bars, offices, stores and even a movie theater. The town center also offers a selection of residences from condos and town homes to apartments and single-family homes.
The architecture of Northshore Town Center recreates the old-world charm of an urban downtown with trellises, porches and rooftop decks and gardens, many with views of the lake and the Tennessee River . Additionally, it features a compact design with multiple levels and with garages located behind stores and offices to help combat urban sprawl.
Once the site of an expansive farm on what was then the outskirts of town, Northshore Town Center is located along I-140 (Pellisippi Parkway) and Northshore Drive on the southwest side of Knoxville, with convenient access to the interstate.
Construction on the first homes and retail space will begin this fall and the entire project is expected to be completed by 2009.
